Riding Acadia · Cadillac Mountain
Cadillac Mountain, in Acadia National Park near Bar Harbor, Maine, is the highest point on the North Atlantic coast of the United States, at about 1,530 feet. The summit road climbs from the Park Loop Road with views over Frenchman Bay and the islands, and it is one of the first places in the country to see the sunrise for part of the year.
Acadia is a national park: there is an entrance fee, and in the busy season a vehicle reservation is required to drive the summit road, including on a motorcycle. Book it ahead, especially for sunrise.
From the tri-state it is a long ride up the coast, usually done as a several-day trip through New England with Route 1 and the coastal towns of Maine.
